cytarabine injection is an antineoplastic medication that is used for the treatment of acute non-lymphocytic leukemia, acute lymphocytic leukemia and blast phase of chronic myelocytic leukemia. It acts by inhibiting the synthesis of dna and blocks the progression of cells. It is cytotoxic in nature. It also exhibits antiviral and immuno suppressant properties. It is available in 100 / 500 mg doses.\rcytarabine injection is contraindicated in patients those who are hypersensitive to cytarabine or to any of the components of the formulation. Caution should be taken in patients having bone marrow suppression by performing bone marrow examinations, leukocyte and platelet counts regularly.\rrecommended dose:the recommended dosage of cytarabine injection is 100 mg/m2/day by continuous iv infusion during the first 7 days.
