Automatic Cupping Tester, For Industrial

A world reference instrument to efficiently assess the elasticity and cupping resistance of various coatings at various stages of deformation. As per IS 101 (Par 5/Sec 2) 1998, IS:197 / BS:3900, DIN 53156. This test is generally applicable to products having a thickness not less than 0.5mm upto 3mm. It is a Rugged instrument, It is hand operated but easy to use. It has a built in gear box which minimizes the manual force allowing to perform a smooth deformation. Samples are cut and deep drawn as per Erichsen Principle, to determine the depth to which they can be drawn before the paint cracks. The depth of indentation is measured directly through a dial gauge fixed to the instrument with a resolution of 0.01mm. It is a bench mounted model, with a cast iron heavy base, and a cylindrical test head. It has to be securely positioned and fastened to the floor or table capable of holding its weight. The forming process and the appearance of the crack can be observed looking down onto the blank holder.   The instrument comes complete with a magnifying lens, clamping ring, operating Handle, Manual and a dial gauge.
