    Cumin is the dried, white fruit with grayish brown colour of a small slender annual herb. The aromatic seeds like fruit is elongated, ovoid, 3 to 6 mm long, slightly bilter ond has a worm flavor Cumin is a tropical plant and is cullivated as a ravi crop in areas where atmospheric humidity during February-March is low

    (India is the main producer and consumer of cumin, producing 70% of the world production and consuming about 90% of its own production (about 63% of the world production)

    Uses:

    Cumin is used mainly where highly spiced foods are preferred. It is on ingredient of most curry powders and many savoury spice mixture,and is used in stews.It gives bite to plain rice and to beans and cakes Cumin seeds have an aromatic odour and bitter taste.It is used as condiment, and is an ingredient in curry powders, seosonings of bread cakes employed in native dishes of Central and South America. In medicine, it is used as a stimulant, carminative Stomachic and astringent. Cumin seed oil is used in perfumery and for flavoring cordials
