Dr U S Walia, Sr. Agronomist-cum-Head (Retd.), Department of Agronomy, Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana has teaching, research and extension experience for about thirty seven years. He handled nine adhoc research projects funded by national and international agencies especially in the field of science. His publications include four books, six book chapters, five research bulletins, four extension bulletins, two practical manuals, 350 publications (research and extension) and more than 90 recommendations (as co-worker) have been included in the package of practices for the benefit of the farmers. He has guided 9 M.Sc. and 3 Ph.D. students. His contributions have been recognized through various awards viz. FAI Silver Jubilee Award - 1984 for outstanding Doctoral Research in Fertilizer Usage, fellow as well as Gold Medal of Indian Society of Science during 2004 and 2007 respectively.
Dr. S.S. Walia

Dr S S Walia, is working as Agronomist in the Department of Agronomy, Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana. He has published 120 research articles, five book chapters and four manuals. Based on his significant contributions in the field of Agronomy, he received P S Deshmukh Young Agronomist award (2005). He is working on farming system and organic farming.
