Salius pharma has offer anti-allergic medication Crohist(levocetirizine hydrochloride 5 mg tablets) which is used for the treatment of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis.
CROHIST contains the active ingredient levocetirizine hydrochloride 5 mg per tablet which belongs to a class of medications called non-sedative anti-histamines. It works by blocking the action of histamine, a natural substance in the body that causes allergic symptoms. Levocetirizine acts by inhibiting peripheral histamine receptors from binding to its receptors. Levocetirizine is more potent at suppressing wheal and flare than other anti-histamines. It is used in the treatment of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis, chronic idiopathic urticaria, rhinitis associated with asthma and acute allergic reactions due to drugs, food and insect bites. The common side effects that may occur are somnolescence, fatigue, asthenia, urinary retention e.t.c.
crohist is contraindicated in patients those who are hypersensitive to levocetirizine hydrochloride, pregnancy, lactation and patients with renal and hepatic impairment. Drug interactions may happen with azithromycin, cimetidine, theophylline ritonavir, e.t.c. Since these may cause changes in the pharmacokinetics. It is recommended not to be used in children under 6 years of age.
recommended dose: one tablet of crohist tab is to be taken once daily in the evening.
