Cresyl Violet Acetate is a certified solid dye used for the preparation of a staining solution to demonstrate the presence of Nissl substances in neurons and cell nuclei. Is a metachromatic basic dye for the demonstration of Nissl substance and nuclei in nerve tissue. As a working solution, Cresyl Violet Acetate can be utilized in the Luxol Fast Blue (LFB) procedure or used solely as a stand-alone nerve tissue stain. Cresyl Violet acetate is used as stain for nerve cells and tissue spinal cord section, brain paraffin, cells and granules. It is also useful to measure pyruvate dehydrogenase complex activity when its acetylation is coupled with acetyl-CoA production.
Applications:
It is also often used as a counterstain to Luxol Fast Blue. Cresyl violet acetate is used for staining nerve tissue and nerve cells and fresh tumor tissue for biopsy. Product Description. Cresyl violet acetate is a high purity biological stain to used for Nissl staining of spinal cord and brain paraffin sections and to stain mast cell and cartilage granules. Cresyl Violet acetate is used in Nissl staining of brain paraffin and spinal cord section. It is also certified for use to stain mast cell and cartilage granules. It has allowed the visualization of the arterial blood supply to the central hemispheres when dissolved in isotonic saline and DMSO.
