Copper Oxychloride

Products such as copper belong to Group Y, and have multisite activity. It interferes with several of
the (fungus) vital life functions. For this reason resistance is less likely to develop. Copper oxychloride is a
protectant fungicidebactericide which prevents infection on plants. Its mode of action is by interfering with the
enzyme system of spores and mycelium, a process which is usually irreversible. It forms a chemical barrier against
fungal attack and is a foliar fungicide with preventative action. Deposits must be on the crop before fungal spores
begin to germinate. Wettable powder containing copper oxychloride equivalent to copper content 50% balance
wetting, dispersing and suspending agents and inert carriers. Copper oxychloride is a contact fungicide effective
against a wide range of plant diseases, such as leaf spot, fruit rot, bud rot, canker, blights, koleroga, downy mildew
and red rust on crops like arecanut, coconut, banana, citrus, chillies, cardamom, coffee, tomato, potato,
