Concertina wire is a type of barbed wire which is made of metal strips with sharp razor edes and formed in large coils which can be expanded like a concertina. The points are very sharp and made to rip and grab on to the clothing or flesh. This is a modern type of fencing in the present era. Each coil actually consist of two oppositely wound helices which support each othe againts crushing while allowing easy longitudinal movement
