Contact SupplierCoir fiber is a fiber extracted from the coconut husk. Coir is a fibrous material between the hard internal coconut shell and the outer coat of a coconut. The brown coir fiber is obtained from the fully matured and ripe coconuts.
The process involves slicing the coconut husk, crushing the husk in the machine, soaking the crushed husk in water to wet the husk, extracting the husk from the outer skin, screening to separate fibers, baby fibers and pith. Final product from the machine is wet fibers which is then dried in the sunlight and bundled as per the requirements. The color and quality of the extracted fibers depends on the freshness and maturity of the coconut husk. The characteristics of the product are light in weight, brittle, strong, and elastic, with a tendency to curl.
