For hundreds of years, the coconut fruit ofthe coconut palm has been a great source of versatility. It provides food, drink, clothing and shelter, as well as income from its products. Due to its continuous production, the coconut is readily available all year round. Today, the main producers in the world are Indonesia, the Philippines and India. Each bunch of coconuts can contain between five to 12 nuts. The coconut is a source of food, oil, coconut water, coconut milk, and medicine. It has probably been used by humans for centuries. Today, it is a common visual of dreamy relaxation and increasingly, a symbol of health. From the Asian tropics to South America, the coconut has certainly spread around the globe by waves of sea-faring people migrating and trading across continents. Light and buoyant, the coconut itself can traverse significant distances by ocean currents. They form a regular part ofthe diets of many people in thetropics and subtropics. Coconuts are distinct from otherfruits for their large quantity of water (also called "iuice"), and when immature, may be harvested tortheir potable coconut water. When mature, they can be used as seed nuts or processed foroil, charcoal from the hard shell, and coirtrom the fibrous husk. When dried, the coconut flesh is called copra. The oil and milk derived from it are commonly used in cooking and frying, as well as in soaps and cosmetics. The husks and leaves can be used as material to make a variety of products for furnishing and decorating. The coconut also has cultural and religious significance in certain societies, particularly in India, where it is used in Hindu rituals.
Properties and benefits of Coconut
The Pacific Islanders believe that coconut is the cure for all illness, which is whythe palm tree (from which coconuts are grown) is known as “The Tree of Life." Coconut oil is thought to possess healing properties above and beyond that of any other dietary oils. Eating coconuts are excellentfor one‘s immunity. They are antiviral, antifu ngal, antibacterial, and anti-parasitic, meaning they kill harmful bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites. Coconuts are a delicious and nutritious source of fiber, vitamins, minerals, and amino acids. The oil is excellentfor keeping one young and beautiful. its antioxidant properties slow down the aging process by protecting the body from harmful free radicals. Eating coconuts also supports the development of strong, healthy bones and teeth. it also helps hairto become more healthy and lustrous. Coconut improves heart health by providing healthy short chain and medium chain fatty acids that are essential for good health. Consuming of coconut restores and supports thyroid function. It helps protect against kidney disease and bladder infection. Coconut promotes weight loss and helps to keep hair and skin healthy and youthful looking, prevents wrinkles, sagging skin, age spots, and provides sun protection.
Steps of Dehydration
Fresh and ripe coconut is collected from the trees. The nuts are very hard. The only edible part ofthe nut is afleshy white material inthe hard shell. The outerfibrous coverofthe nut, which is known as the husk is removed first. Inside, there is an even harder innershell. This nut is cut open into two halves. After pouring outthe water orjuice insidethe coconuts, it is then inputted manually into the drying chamber. The coconuts can be dried in CREATOR C1 :16 with atime period of 14 hours. After a continues drying forten hours, the fleshy part inside is separated fromthe hard shell. This process is called scooping. Laterthe scooped coconut flesh is again dried for 4 hours. This helps in drying every nut evenly without losing its colour. Thus, the coconuts can be preserved for long time periods. The capacity of CREATOR C1 :16 varies from 300 nuts input capacity to a range of 20000 nuts per batch.
