Sizing Tester For Paper (COBB Tester) -The amount of water absorbed by any paper is dependent on various characteristics such as its sizing and porosity etc. The sizing of paper can be determined by conducting a water absorption test with the help of a Cobb tester. In this test the weight of water absorbed by a known area of the paper under test in a specified duration of time is determined, from which the sizing characteristic is evaluated. However, this method is not recommended for determination of sizing characteristic of writing paper.
