Cobalt carbonate, also known as spherocobaltite, is a mineral with chemical formula CoCO3. It is the carbonate salt of cobalt. It forms red trigonal crystals with specific gravity 4.13 which decompose on melting. Cobalt carbonate is insoluble in either cold or hot water but soluble in acids. Cobalt carbonate is used in pottery glazes and may be found in pottery supply stores.
