    History of M/S. NEON ALLOYS Clad Metal
    • M/S. NEON ALLOYS manufactures clad plate which is explosion welded.
    • Since the 1960s, we have made use of this technology and expanded it.
    • In 1999, we built a new clad manufacturing plant, doubling the production capacity by 2006.
    • A highly sophisticated explosion cladding facility is housed in the factory, which is one of its kind in the world, with no alternatives
    • We undertake all the manufacturing and testing stages in-house on new, completely mechanized equipment
    • High material throughput, plates of all sizes and wide and heavy plate capacity are supported by large bridge cranes

    M/S. NEON ALLOYS Explosion welding Process
    • Explosive detonation that releases high energy creates metallurgical weld between metal plates
    • Surfaces of the metals are ground and fixed parallel to each other
    • Explosive powder which is specially made is placed on the cladder surface
    • Detonation front moves evenly from the initiator over the cladder surface
    • Using a particular impact angle and velocity, the Cladding Metal is collided with the backer
    • A thin sheet of mating surface is spalled as a jet when momentum is exchanged
    • Spalled metal and oxides are carried by the jet in front of the collision point
    • At the wavy weld line, a thin layer of “Micro-fusion” is formed which is 10.5 inch thick
    • Metallurgical weld gets solidified over the total surface when metals are forced into close contact by several million psi forces
    • Bulk heating of metals is prevented by the speedy explosive detonation
    • NEON ALLOYS process makes sure that important physical properties of the Backer material and corrosion proof ability of the Cladding material is retained.
