Contact SupplierCholine chloride is a member of the B-complex group of water soluble vitamins. It is an essential factor in the normal health development of animals and necessary for maximum growth. As a part of the molecular structure of phospholipids, it is concerned with the mobilization of fat in the body. In the absence of choline there is an abnormal accumulation of fat in the liver. In conjunction with certain other dietary factors, choline will prevent the occurrence of perosis (slipped tendon) in chicks and turkeys. It is also involved in the synthesis of phospholipids, spohyngomyelins and glycine.
Choline is essential for the formation of acetylcholine, a compound which makes possible the transmission of nerve impulses.
