Chat Masala

A mix of hot spices common in India that are used to flavor a variety of appetizer-like foods, fruit salads, fresh fruit, fruit juices, or vegetable salads. Chat is a term in India that refers to something to be licked when applied to snacks or appetizers, so the title of this spice mix references its use with finger foods or snacks as it is sprinkled over the foods for a flavorful topping. This is similar to salting popcorn or other foods and may then be licked off or eaten as part of the food. A dash of Chat masala on fruits, juices,salads,sandwiches,fried and snacks brings out the sour and sweet taste of the chat items.
