This small guage of angle 60 degree is very useful for setting thread cutting tools, used for checking the pitch of threads through permanently deep etched graduations in 14ths, 20ths, 24ths and 32nd of an inch. There is one more gauge of angle 55 degrees in this type and both these meet the American national or US 60 Degree, Whitworth or English 55 Degree specifications.
