Caustic soda is used by numerous industries, mostly as a strong chemical base in the manufacture of pulp and paper, textiles, drinking water, soaps and detergents, and as a drain cleaner. Also known as Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH), it is available in the form of LYE and FLAKES. Lye is exported in barrels and/or directly in ship whereas flakes are packed in PP bags. The major qualities of caustic soda lye exported/imported are 48% NaOH and caustic soda flakes is 98% NaOH.
