Carpets are often used to minimize noise levels, lessens the possibility of an accident due to a hard fall or slip, and as an important element in exuding a certain style and ambiance.

    CIL inspects a variety of types of carpets manufactured in China for export. This includes rolls of carpet, area rugs, and bath mats.

    Some of the terminology, and important quality standards, which we use in determining a quality control inspection procedure for inspecting carpet includes:

    ASTM D7339 - 07 Inspection Test to Determine VOCs Emitted from Carpets

    CE Marking certifies that the carpet manufactured has met EU health, safety, and environmental requirements specifications.

    AATCC 174-2007 These carpet inspection tests are used to determine the antimicrobial activities of new carpet materials:

    A qualitative antibacterial test

    A quantitative antibacterial test

    A quantitative anti-fungal test.

    CRI Seal of Approval

    Only top-quality carpets can pass the CRI Seal of Approval testing and certification program. CRI Green Label and Green Label Plus inspection testing is also used to indicate carpet, carpet backings, and adhesives that emit low VOCs.
