Carpet Grass

Carpetgrass is probably one of the lesser known of the warm season grasses. It is a coarse bladed shallow rooted grass. It is susceptible to drought. Although not one of the prettiest grasses and not a popular lawn grass it does have it’s uses. It makes a good nurse crop grass for late germinating varieties such as centipede and is commonly used for low lying areas that tend to stay damp for extended periods of time.
