Carbon Steel Flanges

Carbon Steel flanges are being made of low alloy carbon steel metals i.e. plates and forgeable solid bars. Carbon Steel flanges are corrosive in nature but very reasonable priced metal.

Carbon Steel flanges manufacturing is bit easy in comparison to other steels and alloys like Stainless Steel, Alloy Steel and Super Alloys like Monel, Inconel, Hastelloy, Titanium etc. Forging Carbon Steel is also quite easy because the hardness of this metal is very low in comparison to above said metals. In simple words machining of CS Flanges is easy as far as tooling is concerned and that is why production of Carbon Steel flanges is much higher in comparison to stainless and other metal flanges.

Carbon Steel is a low temperature metal, In air and moisture these flanges gets rusted. That is why CS Flanges can not be used where chemical or saultey atmosphere is there. For example Costal area, acid plants etc. But Carbon steel flanges are being consumed much more in comparison to any other metal flange because of price factor.

Carbon Steel flanges are being used in Commercial as well as non commercial sectors like Structural applications, construction, Automobile Industry Water and Drainage applications, Oil & Gas industries etc.

We would like to mention here that some peoples do use carbon steel flange in anti corrosive or some critical applications also by cladding required metal on these flanges.
