CARBOMAX Injection

Carboplatin is a platinum compound that is preferred to cisplatin by virtue of its better toxicity profile. In combination with paclitaxel, carboplatin is a gold standard for treatment of advanced ovarian cancer. AUC dosing (commonly 4-6) is generally preferred to body surface area (BSA) dosing. With a much less renal toxicity than cisplatin, a vigorous hydration schedule or forced dieresis is not required with carboplatin.
Indications:
CARBOMAX (Carboplatin) is used in the treatment of advanced ovarian cancer, small cell lung cancer, Head and Neck cancer and in genitourinary cancer, particularly in testicular, bladder and cervical cancer
Antitumour activity of Carboplatin has also been observed in pediatric brain tumor (meduloblastoma)
