Calcium Butyrate

Calcium Butyrate is a chemical compound which is a calcium salt of butyric acid. Its standard name is calcium butyrate, while also called as calcium butanoate. Commonly it is available is amorphous powder, but for more stability the powder is customized in coated granular or noodles form encapsulated with permitted ingredients such as essential oils, glycerol monostearate or maltodextrin etc.
Common grade available and application : Calcium Butyrate is used as feed supplement to animals and as food additives. It performs anti-salmonella action and improves immune status of animals.

• Appearance - White to off-white granular powder or granules; has rancid or sour milky odour
• Identifications - It gives positive reaction for Calcium and Butyrate
• Solubility - Freely soluble in water
• pH=9.0-12.0 (5% w/v soln)
• Loss on drying/Aqua - Less than 5%
• Heavy metals=Max. 0.005%
• Total Calcium (Ca) - Min. 17.5%
• Assay - Not less than 98% on dried basis
