The Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism program (C-TPAT)
The Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism program (C-TPAT) is a voluntary government-business initiative to build cooperative relationships that strengthen and improve overall international supply chain and U.S. border security.
C-TPAT recognizes that U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) can provide the highest level of cargo security only through close cooperation with the ultimate owners of the international supply chain such as importers, carriers, consolidators, licensed customs brokers, and manufacturers. C-TPAT offers trade-related businesses an opportunity to play an active role in the war against terrorism.
By participating in this first worldwide supply chain security initiative, CDG has ensured a more secure and expeditious supply chain for our employees, suppliers and customers.
Verification Interface
CBP has launched a web-based C-TPAT Status Verification Interface (SVI), which allows C-TPAT participants the ability to on line query on the status of consenting/certified C-TPAT companies. The website is maintained by CBP.
CDG is a participant in this program.
Customers/supply chain partners who are C-TPAT participants and wish to verify the status of CDG in the SVI interface can enter their request to follow us via query of our company name.
The company querying on the status will need to sign into the site with their own ID & password, which would have been assigned to them by CBP.
CTPAT participants are welcome to check our membership status through a company search with “CDG (USA), Inc.” or request for constant monitoring on CTPAT portal.
CDG is also a participant in CIP (Carrier Initiative Program), and PIP (Partners in Protection), a Canada Border Services Agency security initiative.
CDG is not a participant in U S Customs and Border Protection SCIP (Super Carrier Initiative Program), BASC (Business anti-Smuggling Coalition), Americas Counter Smuggling Initiative (ACSI), or Land Border Carrier Initiative Program (LBCIP).
Third-Party Logistics Providers
For C-TPAT Certification, the third-party logistics provider must satisfy the requirement to handle cargo inside and outside the USA.
They have managed cargo using their resources, such as having a warehouse facility on behalf of the client company.
They must not allow any form of subcontracting service.
They have to be licensed as per the Federal Maritime Commission, Transport Security Administration, US Customs and Border Protection, and US Department of Transport.
Apart from this, the Third-Party Logistics requiring a C-TPAT Certification must satisfy the requirement of having a clean record and appointing an officer to deal with C-TPAT Certification.
