Contact SupplierThe Bugbee electrode is a specialized tool used in urological procedures, particularly for the treatment of bladder tumors through a process called fulguration or electrocautery.
The electrode consists of a thin wire loop attached to the end of a handle, which is connected to an electrosurgical generator. During a procedure, the loop is inserted into the bladder through a cystoscope, a thin tube with a camera on its end for visualization. Once inside the bladder, the loop is used to remove or destroy abnormal tissue, such as tumors, by delivering electrical energy to heat and vaporize the tissue.
Monopolar flexible bugbee electrodes are used in cystoscopes, resectoscopes or ureteroscopes for coagulation/ ablation of tissue.
