Bosentas 125 Tablets

Bosentas (125 mg) is the first of a new drug class, an endothelin receptor antagonist. Tracleer® is indicated for the treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension in patients with who class iii or iv symptoms, to improve exercise ability and decrease the rate of clinical worsening .

Active ingredients: bosentan

Uses: Bosentas 125 mg tablet is used in adults and children to treat high blood pressure in the vessels that carry blood to the lungs (pulmonary arterial hypertension). It is also used in adults for the treatment of painful and difficult to heal open sores on fingers and toes (digital ulcers).

How it works: Bosentas 125 mg tablet belongs to the class of medicines called endothelin receptor antagonists. It works by stopping the action of a naturally occurring protein called endothelin-1 that causes blood vessels to narrow and prevents normal blood flow in people who have pulmonary arterial hypertension.

Common side effects: Abnormal liver function tests, anemia, decreased blood pressure, diarrhoea, fainting, headache, hypersensitivity reaction, indigestion, ankle swelling, fluid retention, limb swelling, flushing, skin redness, tachycardia, heart rate irregular.
