Contact SupplierPerennial fodder sorghum, released from tamil nadu agricultural university, coimbatore on 2014. The variety is crossing with gamma ray (400 gy) and mutant of co (fs) 29. Seed rate is 4 kg per acre (spacing is 1x1 feet for single seeds). Irrigation is 7–9 days depending upon soil conditions. It gives 6–7 cuts in one year at 60 days interval (for first harvest) and subsequent cuttings at 30 days interval. It comes up to 4 years. It contains high protein (9.86%), dry matter (25.9%) and less crude fiber (19.8%). The variety is recommended for cultivation in both irrigated & part of dry conditions and suitable for anywhere climatic conditions in india. The plants are 270-290 cm tall with 2.5–3.0 cm stem girth, having 15-20 tillers per plant. It can be grown under an annual rainfall of 300-350mm. It can be grown on any soil except on very sandy soils. The leaves and stem is highly succulent in nature. It’s having very less leaf blade and fast growth. Average yield of green fodder is 76-79 t/acre/yr. First weeding on 25-30 days after sowing. After each harvest a weeding may be given before fertilization. Note: seed size are small in nature so farmers should follow, 1:2 (seed: sand soil) ratio mix properly then directly sow (line) to prepared field.
