They are designed to be used in tension. Threaded rod in bar stock form is often called all-thread. As for types of metal used in the manufacturing of threaded rod, the most common include low carbon steel, B7 and stainless steel. However, other metals used include: Grade 5 and Grade 8, stainless steel 303, 304 and 316, A449, Brass, aluminum, copper and silicon bronze.
