Bismarckia Palm Introduction

Bismarckia nobilis is a gorgeous large palm tree, it is native to Madagascar and categorized in palms family Arecaceae. Bismarckia has only one species in three colors, silver, light and dark blue. Its name is inspired by the first chancellor of the German Empire Otto Von Bismarck.

Bismarckia nobilis grows single trunk with the crown of leaves numbering from 15 to 30 large silver or blue fan type leaves. It’s trunk diameter is typically in between 18 to 24 inches and plant can grow up to 60 feet. Mature plants leaves are very large in size and cover 8 to 10 feet diameter with approximately 20-30 divisions, overall crown width is approximately 20 feet for a mature specimens.

Bismarckia palms are increasingly popular in India in recent times because of its wonderful foliage and ability to adapt worst summer as well winter temperatures.
