Biosafety Cabinet

• Biosafety Cabinets are specialized workstations widely used in clinical, pharmaceutical, life science and industrial laboratories where experiments
• highly needed contaminant free environment. Also known as biological safety cabinets and biohazard safety cabinets, these are made in three
• different class types such as Class 1, Class 2 and Class 3; in which Class 2 is widely used in microbiology laboratories because it provides
• protection to both product as well as personal. It is biosafety level factor which decides which BSC should be used in laboratory. These
• cabinets are considered safer than other clean benches because such BSCs effectively eliminate risks to operator / shottaff, samples and the
• environment from pathogenic biological agents (PBA) and microorganisms responsible for spreading airborne infection.

Types: 

There are three types of class 2 biosafety cabinets are made. It is the type of work which decides which class 2 BSC should be used in laboratory. Below is short description about all types:

• Type A2: recirculate approximately 70% air and 30% exhaust
• Type B1: recirculate approximately 30% air and 70% exhaust
• Type B2: Does not recirculate but exhaust 100% air
• Complete Stainless Steel 304 / 316
• Inner Stainless Steel, Outer Mild Steel
• Stainless Steel bench, rest mild Steel

Features

• Main body MS powder coated & Working top and working zone made of stainless steel (304 grade)- Heavy 20gauge
• Two parts in Working top: a) Front perforated portion 5” in SIZE, b) Nonperforated working zone
• Work Area will be approximately 3 X 2 X 2 Feet with a shutter opening of 489 mm

Specification

• HEPA Filters: MINIPLATE with 99.99% efficiency for 0.3 microns with integral metal guards & Filter frame gaskets and
• manufactured in class 100 super clean air-conditioned environment for longer life.
• Air pressurization system: Statically and dynamically balanced, fitted with the special vibration-reducing system to suit low
• noise and vibrations.
• UV lamp: In the working zone (40 microwatts/ square cm at 254 mm or better) and placed so that the operator cannot see
• directly i.e. eyes will be always protected.
• Rehabeatable pre-filters should have an efficiency of more than 80%.
• Switches & Electrical sockets outlets for 15/5 amp.
• Should have Pressure Monitors digital
• Exhaust blower will be capable of 100% exhaust interconnected with supply air blower; the system will only start when the
• negative pressure is developed.
• Back holes will be there on vertical walls to provide more work area on the table.
• Provided with Switches & Electrical sockets outlets for 16 Amp.
• Suitable power supply 230 Volt AC
