Bevel Protractor

Due to intensive contact with large pipe manufacturers dutch engineers successfully developed a steel bevel protector, which protects the pipe-end against damage. The steel bevel protector provides many advantages:
1. Special shock absorbing profile
when the bevel protector is fitted on the pipe, the top of the bevel lies totally free. In case of impact, this area will deform and absorb the energy of the shock. Forces of shock are transmitted to the bevel's flank due to the profile of the metal ring. In that way the pipe bevels are well protected remain free of damage during transport.
2. Protect the complete circumference of the pipe
normally bevel protectors have a gap where the two ends meet. At this point the bevel is not protected. Dhatec's bevel protector has two overlapping ends. This provides complete protection for the whole circumference.
3. Made in one piece
by developing a bevel protector in one piece, dhatec has succeeded in. Introducing a bevel protector that is easy to handle. It does not require any extra parts to lock it into position, enabling it ot be produced cost effectively.
4. Unique closing system and strong clamping
the bevel protector can be placed very easily by bringing the two ends together and hammering on the closing curve, or by pressing the closing curve down with a hydraulic clamping machine. Extra tension is produced because the closing curve is always deformed downwards into two small curves. This means the bevel protector will not work loose during transportation of the pipes and will stay firmly in place until the final destination of the pipes is reached.
5. Large pipe tolerance possible
the closing system, having an effective clamp tolerance of 16 mm, ensures that a dimensional tolerance on the pipes of +- 2,5 mm causes no problem for steady clamping.
6 easy to remove
besides the easy and secure fastening possibilities, the bevel protector can also easily be removed. By positioning a tool under one of the small curves of the closing system, the tension is relieved and the bevel protector can easily be removed.
7. Placing when pipes are stacked.
Because the bevel protectors only clamp on the inside of the pipe, they can also be placed when pipes are lying on top of each other. In this way, the bevel protectors can be placed in an economic and safe manner. The bevel protector is available in normal, zinc plated and stainless steel for every diameter.
