The honey bee, Apis Mellifera, secretes beeswax to build the walls of the honeycomb. Secreted wax is a transport colorless liquid, which turns into a semi-solid substance on contact with the atmosphere. Beeswax is purified form its raw state by freeing it of solid impurities by melting and centrifugation.
