Basil Oil

Holy basil, like sweet Basil, comes from India where it is revered as a sacred herb. Holy Basil Essential Oil is also known as Tulsi Essential Oil. The oil is steam distilled from the leaves and flowers/buds of the Ocimum Sanctum herb. It is used extensively in India and within ayurvedic practices. Holy Basil is grown and distilled for aromatic, medicinal and spiritual purposes. Holy Basil contains a large percentage of Eugenol. 
Basil oil used in flavoring liquor, chewing tooth paste, cold rub oil etc. It is an energizing/stimulating diffuser, and is used to make room mist blends. The oil is helpful for nervous system disorders such as depression, headache, hypertension, insomnia, migraine, nervous tension, stress and anxiety. Traditionally Ocimum sanctum is used in malarial fevers, gastric disorders and in hepatatic infections. The oil is used in flavoring, cosmetics, soaps, pharmaceuticals and perfumery.
