Also known by the names �the Queen of Herbs�, �the Incomparable One� and �the Mother Medicine of Nature � Tulsi is also a powerful medicine. Tulsi is considered to be an adaptogen, balancing different processes in the body, and helpful for adapting to stress.
Ocimum sanctum (holy basil), called Tulsi in India, is ubiquitous in Hindu tradition. Perhaps its role as a healing herb was instrumental in its "sacred" implication. Tulsi have antibacterial, anti fungal, antiviral & de-toxicant properties, its regular use prevents heart attacks. The leaves in the form of a paste are used in parasitical diseases of the skin and also applied to the finger and toenails during fever when the limbs are cold.
