Apart from the fact that the government is giving incentives on the use of barcodes there is also a competitive advantage to the company as this will stop fake products from being sold in the market, As of now, the barcode is mandatory for export of pharma products\r\nThe basic objective of financial assistance is to enhance the marketing competitiveness of Micro & Small Enterprises (MSEs) by way of:\r\nProviding 75% of one-time registration fee and annual recurring fee (for first three years) paid by MSEs to GS1 India.\r\nPopularizing the adoption of bar codes on large scale amongst MSEs, and\r\nMotivating and encouraging MSEs for use of bar codes through conducting seminars on Bar Code, etc.
