Bursting strength is widely used as a measure of rupture resistance in paper products. Factors such as tensile strength, elongation properties, shear, bending forces, fiber type, and grammage affect the burst strength. The Technidyne PROFILE/Plus™ Burst measurement is available in either paper or board configuration. Bolt-on diaphragm mounting eliminates diaphragm twist. Silicon oil prevents gumming and also aids in bubble removal. Continuous monitoring technique provides greater measurement precision. Selectable clamping pressure allows for proper sample clamping.
