Attapulgite is a naturally occurring mineral, is a crystalline hydrated magnesium alumina silicate with a three dimensional chain structure. The shape and sizes of its needle structure gives unique colloidal properties, especially resistance to high concentration of electrolytes, and gives high surface area and high porosity particles when thermally activated.
Pharma applications in the treatment of diarrhea, as binder in tableting formulations, lotion and creams, liquid soaps and dry cosmetics applications.

activated attapulgite (atgel – 50)
it is a purified native hydrated aluminum silicate essentially consisting of the clay mineral polygorskite that has been carefully heated in increase its adsorptive capacity. It’s a light, cream or buff, very fine powder.
colloidal attapulgite (atgel – 1)
it is prepared by specific thermal activation and particle size control. The heat treatment of raw clay is more vigorous and most of the bound water is removed. Therefore, the possibility of obtaining a colloidal dispersion is almost nil.
