Artemisia annua (commonly known as sweet wormwood, sweet annie, or qinghao) is an annual herb belonging to the Asteraceae family. It is native to Asia but is now cultivated worldwide due to its medicinal properties.

    Seed Description:

Size & Shape: Small, elongated, and slightly curved.

Color: Light brown to dark brown.

Texture: Smooth with a slightly glossy surface.

Weight: Very lightweight, making them easy to disperse by wind.

Germination: Requires light to germinate; best sown on the surface of moist soil without covering.

    Growing Conditions:

Soil: Well-drained, sandy, or loamy soil with a neutral to slightly acidic pH.

Sunlight: Full sun exposure for optimal growth.

Watering: Moderate watering; avoid overwatering as it prefers slightly dry conditions.

Temperature: Best germinates at temperatures between 20-25°C (68-77°F).

    Uses:

Medicinal: Artemisinin, extracted from the plant, is used to treat malaria and has potential antiviral and anti-inflammatory properties.

Aromatic: Leaves and stems emit a strong, pleasant scent.

Companion Planting: Can deter certain pests in gardens.
