The concept of this appliance is to separate the posterior teeth to help posteriors to supra irrupt in deep bite cases or to correct posterior cross bite along with fixed appliances,The appliance is retained in the mouth with the help of the clasps found in the appliance. Adams clasps around the molars or ball clasps in the space between teeth are most commonly used for this purpose of retention.
