Contact SupplierAnnatto is a natural colouring agent derived from the seeds of achiote fruit (Bixa Orellana). Achiote tree is tropical shrub which grows in North, Central and South America. Annatto is strongly pigmented orangish red colour that is commonly used as condiments and food coloring agent. The color of Annatto is producedby various carotenoid pigments- bixin and norbixin, found in the reddish waxy coating of the seeds. Annatto has antioxidants, antimicrobial, hepatoprotective, digestive, anti- diabetic properties along with nutrients such as calcium, sodium, iron, fiber, vitamin E etc.
