Angelica root oil is extracted from the root of Angelica by the mode of steam distillation or liquid solventaion (solvent extraction)

It is a yellow liquid having a fresh herbaceous and gently pungent aroma on an earthily and woody background.The main constituents are 1% of volatile oil, sugar,velaric acid,a bitter principle and a rasin called Angelician.The oil of the seed contains in addition methyl ethyleacetic acid and hydroxymirstic acid.
