• Albendazole is a broad spectrum anthelmintic or anti-worm medication effective against: roundworms, tapeworms, and flukes of domestic animals and humans. Albendazole is a member of the benzimidazole compounds used as a drug indicated for the treatment of a variety of  worm infestations.
• Albendazole is also used to treat cystic hydatid disease of the liver, lung, and peritoneum, caused by the larval form of the dog tapeworm.
