Ajwain

Ajwain is an erect, minutely pubescent, branched annual herb with grooved stems. The leaves are rather distant, 2-3-pinnately divided in narrow linear segments. The mericarps, which are the components of the fruit, are compressed, with distinct ridges and a single seed. This is what used as the spice ajwain in cooking. It is rich in fiber, minerals, vitamins,anti-oxidants and health benefiting essential oils like thymol.
