Air Break Switch

AB Switches are a prerequisite unit of all overhead power transmission lines that are used to connect or disconnect the power system of a certain part of overhead cable and Transformer from the main power distribution line.

We at HEPL manufacture these up to 33KV. Air Break Switches are designed as double or triple post construction (depending on their type) which can be mounted both horizontally and vertically with the electrical double pole structure. They are usually found in groups of 3 switches serially installed which are operated together. Hence the name "Gang Operated Air Break Switch" (GOAB Switch).​

Generally 11KV AB Switches & 22KV AB Switches are used in Power Distribution line and 33KV AB Switches are used in Power Generation & Power Transmission Line.
