ACOUSTIC ENCLOSURE AND ATTENUATION

Powerica installed the country's first fully-automated ‘Prima Power’ PSBB (punching, shearing, buffering and bending) line in Khapoli, Maharashtra.

This facility is set up for mass production of the components for the acoustic enclosures. All stages, from picking up the sheet metal from the stacker to the finished component, is completed in one continuous process.

Powerica has successfully met all the world standards in DG guidelines.

In 2005, the MOEF (keeping in line with world standards), issued notification for all diesel generating set manufacturers between the range of 7.5 kVa upto 1000 kVa to restrict sound level to 75dBa at 1 mtr. This amendment stated that since 1st January 2005, all generators were to be supplied with acoustic enclosures to restrict the noise level.

Attenuation of Diesel Generator Room

An amendment to the MOEF rules has permitted acoustic treatment of the DG set rooms where individual acoustic enclosures are not possible. Powerica has individual departments for design, manufacture and installations of large projects that require multiple DG set installations. Customised attenuators for the intake air and hot air discharge are designed for each site to ensure compliance with the requirement of the insertion loss of 25dBA for the entire DG Set room.
