Champion offers fully Automatic Backwash Strainers up to flow rates of 4500m3/hr. Built ruggedly to handle applications in Power Plants like Filtration of Boiler Feed Water, LP & HP lines, Auxillary Cooling water, fuel oil systems, Cooling water systems, Lube Oil filtration etc.
The Strainers automatically sense the dirt loads, cleanse themselves and drain out the debris automatically without requiring any human intervention.
How they work?
The water with impurities flows into the bottom of the filter body, here due to high filtration area the velocity reduces and gets strained by the filter media. The filtered water flows out from the outlet. Dirt/Debris gets deposited on the internal surface of the filter element.
Back flushing process is achieved by the difference between pipeline pressure and atmospheric pressure. A hollow cleaning suction scraper arm extends the length of the whole element; it rotates slowly inside the filter, and sucks the dirt and debris on screen surface. When the backwash valve is opened, high velocity reverse flow occurs across the screen and the suction arm sucks and throws all the dirt and debris out. This entire process does not cause any stoppage of filtration and the process continues without any interruption.
Automatic Backwash Strainers can be used for almost all industrial areas, including water supply, filtration of water used for cooling, fire protection services and so on.
