Applications In sugar cane factories and refineries: Ø Pre-filtration of molten syrup, prior to clarification. Ø Pre-filtration before ultra-filtration. Ø Filtration of spilt clarified water. Ø Filtration after bleaching. Ø Filtration of diluted syrup before or between evaporators. Ø Filtration of the resulting centrifuged liquid. Ø As a trap or safety filter. Ø Filtration of the water from the refining process. A very rugged & robust wedge wire filter is used as the filter element. This is coupled with a spider assembly having a scraper system. The liquid enters the body and flows through the element from outside to inside. Debris is collected on the outside surface of the wedge wire element. When the clogging exceeds a pre-set limit or based on set time intervals, a motor rotates the scraper blades against filter element. By this the collected debris is shaved off the filter element surface and filtration area gets regenerated without any interruption or stoppage of flow.
