The use of ‘anti-humid’ chemical improves the moisture absorbing resistance of magnesium oxychloride cement and gives stones a higher ccs strength, stronger abrasion and increased hardness. It also increases the bond strength of magnesium oxychloride cement and hence the problems like ccl4 or formation of fissures or cracks around the stone are completely eliminated, even when the stones are not used for a long time. This increase in bond strength increases the shelf life as well as running life of the flour mill stones.
The primary materials used for manufacturing of flour mill stones are emery grains and magnesium oxychloride cement.
Emery is the second hardest mineral on earth after diamond, having a *mohs hardness value of 9. Emery grains of different sizes are used as an abrasive material in the flour mill stones. We use emery which contains 50% to 60% alumina and 16% to 24% iron oxide, which is the best grade in its kind. A proper combination of different emery grain sizes is used in the manufacturing of flour mill stones to ensure that stones have maximum abrasion resistance without compromising their running life.
