Red coral stone is a naturally piped herb drawn from the swallow waters around Socotra Island, Yemen. It is also called nashif, busad, and bekh marjan. Its pipe-like tubes of calcium carbonate are deep red to pinkish in color. This coral species, which tastes bitter and salty, belongs to the genus Tubipora musica.
