Molecular Sieve 13X AP Grade is an alkali alumino silicate. It is the sodium form of the molecular sieve type X and has an effective pore opening of about 9 angstroms (0.9 nm).

Applications :
Molecular Sieves13X AP Grade is commonly used for the following applications :

• Concurrent removal of H₂O and CO2 from gas and air streams, removal of H₂S and mercaptans from liquids and hydrocarbon fractions, sweetening of natural gas containing H₂S, mercaptans & thiophenes, separation of heavy hydrocarbons from natural gas and air, separation of N₂ from O₂, catalyst bed protection; Static (non regenerative) removal of water and solvent vapours from the inner space of insulating glass units.
• Molecular Sieve 13X AP Grade will adsorb molecules with a kinetic diameter of less than 0.9 nm and exclude those larger.

Regeneration : Molecular Sieve 13X AP Grade can be regenerated by evacuating or purging, usually at elevated temperatures. The purge gas temperature must be sufficiently high to bring the molecular sieve to a level of 200^oC to 300^oC, but not exceeding 600^oC. Higher temperatures may cause physical degradation of the molecular sieve structure. The degree of regeneration depends on the temperature, pressure and composition of the purge gas and is a strong factor in affecting product purity. It is possible to dry fluids to less than 0.1 ppm H₂O and purity to less than 1 ppm total sulphur and CO₂, if adequately regenerated.
