Monel 400 is a mixture of copper and nickel and is hard-boiled by cold working only, whereas Monel K500 is a nickel-copper alloy through the same oxidization resistance and features as the Monel 400. Meanwhile, Monel K500 has a superior hardness and strength then Monel 400, because of additional titanium and aluminium. So as Monel K500 is an age-toughened version of Monel 400, that signifies it has superior resistance and strength to corrosives, in particular seawater.
